VASCO UP TO 4TH AFTER COMEBACK VICTORY

The day after Barnet F.C. were relegated from the English Third Division after losing 3-2 to Torquay United, Vasco almost followed in their footsteps against Antelope.

Antelope took the lead straight from the kick-off. Craig Dollery passed the ball back to absolutely no-one and the Antelope number 9 smashed an unstoppable drive in to the top corner of the net from fully 40 yards.

It soon went from bad to worse as Antelope took a two goal lead after some sloppy play from the Vasco back four let in the Antelope number 8 to smash home the second.

After a half-time roasting from the gaffer, Vasco finally got back in to the game after Ben Jones headed in from an Adam Jones corner.

No sooner had Vasco pulled a goal back, Antelope went and scored a third goal. A second for the Antelope number 9 , who raced through and tucked his shot under the onrushing Rob Rusek.

Vasco's dominance finally told as Ben Jones scored his second goal. Jonesy headed the ball past the hapless goalkeeper from the edge of the 6 yard box. 2-3

Vasco pulled the score back to 3-3 after Lee Beskeen scored what would turn out to be the first of his hat-trick. Lee's 2nd goal owed much to luck. Besky took a pot shot which looked like a comfortable save for the Antelope goalkeeper. Unfortunately the ball bobbled under the keeper's legs and rolled in to the back of the net.

If the fourth goal was lucky then the fifth goal was some clinical finishing. Andy Kingsbury, who had terrorized the left back all game, raced down the line and sent in a peach of a cross which Besky tapped it in to the bottom left hand corner of the goal.

Craig Dollery has taken over as the missed chance champion. The ball rebounded off the post from a Chris Dean shot, and it trickled out the Mr. Dollery. If there was one player that you would have bet your house on scoring, it would have been Mr Dollery. He miskicked the ball, which gently trickled behind for a goal-kick. I've said it once and i'll say it again....TAXI FOR DOLLERY....
